Dear Mr Sian I am writing to you to express my gratitude to you following my recent surgeries which you carried out. I have lived with corneal dystrophy for many, many years and my sight has deteriorated over this time. It has limited the activities I have been able to participate in and has restricted me in so many ways. From the time I came to see you last year you filled with my confidence that I could have a corneal graft and that it would be of benefit to me. Although I am in my seventies I still have an active lifestyle and keep fit and I want to be able to continue this and maintain my independence for as long as possible. You kindly explained the procedures, the timeline, the care, the possible downsides but throughout this I never doubted your sincerity, your optimism and your professionalism. I knew that it wasn't going to be easy and that there would be a lengthy recovery, but I had total faith in your ability and that you ultimately wanted the best for me. I have been to the eye clinic this last week to meet you for a post operative appointment and I can truly say that whilst I am not yet fully recovered, the transformation in my sight and my hope for the future is overwhelmingly positive. For the first time in years, I am seeing in colour and 3D, I can pick out fine details (like the pattern on kitchen roll!) things which I had forgotten existed or never realised were there. These may seem insignificant details but to me they mean the world. I am sure that things will only continue to improve over the coming weeks and months. I cannot fault your care (and that of your staff) during this time and I am forever grateful to the selfless person who made the decision to donate their corneas so I had the gift of renewed sight. I hope that you are able to continue to give this gift to others who may be in a similar position to me and who would benefit from your amazing skills and care. With very many thanks Brenda Underwood

After sustaining a full thickness corneal laceration following a traumatic accident 4 months ago, I feel very privileged to have had emergency surgery conducted by this exceptional clinician, and to be under his continual care. Due to his outstanding clinical skills, he has prevented a multitude of complications due to the initial instability of my eye. I feel very fortunate to be in the safe hands of Mr Sian; he is exceptionally caring, compassionate, and will go above and beyond for his patients, as I have experienced. Due to the complexity of my injury I will be undergoing further surgery and I will be continuing to receive treatment from Mr Sian for the foreseeable future, and I honestly can’t put into words how truly grateful I am for everything he has done for me. As I am only in my early twenties, he is always ensuring that the best possible treatment plan is in place which will give me the best outcome for my vision in the long term. I take comfort in knowing that I am receiving treatment from the very best.

What can I say about Mr Sian, well right from my first meeting with him was an absolute pleasure, he was extremely courteous and very thorough with his examination after which he carefully explained the situation with my eye. On meeting him again on the day of my Cataract removal he gave me a quick examination and explained as to what type of lens was going to use. Our next meeting was in theatre, again Mr Sian was pleased too see me and was ready to start. During the operation I felt no discomfort, in fact I was so relaxed I could have fallen asleep. He is a total first rate surgeon and I would highly recommend him to everyone, I would rate him 10/10 plus.

Mr Indy Sian Performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes replacing both lenses under Local anaesthetic in the last four months. The care and professionalism was excellent, both eyes have been very successful and I am so pleased to be able to see again so clearly. Mr Sian and his team could have not been more caring. The procedure was clearly explained to me by Mr Sian and I was totally aware of what to exspect, at every stage of the surgery. Recently I have seen Mr Sian for a post operative check up, all was well and we were both very pleased with the outcome. I would like to say a great big thank you to him and the team at musgrove park hospital.
